I had to go back to 1984 to remember when I first met you in Hackney. You made it all look so easy back then, because you were so wise. Over the years as I got on with things we stayed in touched. No matter where I went you were always reaching out and 'checking in'. Your charm, sense of humour and the passion for what is right always stood out with you in equal measure.
